Welcome to Chesapeake Rose Cottage, a charming mid-century ranch home (built 1962) nestled on a corner lot in a quiet, modest neighborhood in Norfolk’s Ocean View area.

Enjoy the comforts of home just 5 minutes from Chesapeake Bay beaches, parks, golf, fishing pier, shops and restaurants, Only 20 minutes to downtown Norfolk. Our cozy non-smoking cottage is Ideal for families, small groups, and work-stays for visiting professionals.

Chesapeake Rose is available for longer stays of 30-90 days only. Sorry, no pets.

We ask that you keep the property tidy and leave it essentially in the condition that you find it. The mandatory cleaning fee covers laundering of linens, dusting, vacuuming. mopping, and sanitizing all surfaces for the next guests. This payment goes directly to our cleaner.

My husband and I live nearby, and are happy to answer questions and make recommendations for local resources. If you find anything amiss in the cottage, please let me know immediately so we can address the issue. Text or call me at (757) 568-7251.

Basic House Rules

No smoking anywhere on the premises.
No animals of any kind.
No parties.
No overnight guests beyond those registered.
Respect our neighbors.

Check In/Out

Check-in time is 4 pm. You'll be provided with a unique code for the electronic front-door lock prior to your arrival.

Check-out time is 11 am. Leave beds unmade, used towels on the bathroom floor, dirty dishes (if any) in the sink. Turn off lights and lock the doors. Please send me a message when you have vacated the cottage.

Our Rooms and Features

Chesapeake Rose Cottage is decorated in host Barb's favorite eclectic/shabby chic style. You'll enjoy comfortable furnishings amid her curated collection of rose and beach themed art. The cottage has separate living, dining, and family rooms, in addition to the kitchen, bedrooms, and bathrooms.

Bookcases with reading material, board games and puzzles.
48" wide desk & chair for work space.
No TV - intended as a quiet space.

DINING ROOM

Separate from LR and Kitchen.
Comfortably seats 6.

KITCHEN

Equipped with dishes, utensils, glassware, small appliances, pots & pans.
Keurig coffee maker and a starter set of K-cups.
NOTE: We do not have a dishwasher.

FAMILY TV ROOM

Open to the Kitchen with doors to garage and backyard patio.
Large comfy sectional.
Large screen TV (65") with Roku service provided. Guests may view pay-per-view programming at own expense.

Guest access

Guests have full use of the entire house and yard. There will be no other people on site.

Security

An outdoor camera provides coverage of the front door, steps, and driveway. Recordings made by this system are available if needed.
An electronic deadbolt lock controls access to the front door. You will receive a unique access code prior to your arrival for use during your stay.
Side and rear door sensors and a motion sensor in the living room are not active during guest stays.

Reservation Policy

Check-In Time 04:00 PM | Check-Out Time 11:00 AM

Full payment required in advance, payable using PayPal or credit card.
Suitable for children 2-12 years. Each child counts as one guest against the six-person maximum.
Suitable for infants and children under 2 years.
Check-in: After 4:00 PM
Checkout: 11:00 AM
Self-check-in with keypad. Unique code provided upon arrival.
No smoking.
No pets or service animals.
No parties or events.
Maximum overnight occupancy is limited to six people.

Cancellation Policy

Firm: Full refund for cancellations up to 30 days before check-in. If booked fewer than 30 days before check-in, full refund for cancellations made within 48 hours of booking and at least 14 days before check-in. After that, 50% refund up to 7 days before check-in. No refund after that.
